Taliyar Trailblazers and EOiD in Chawri Bazar

I had originally intended to write this blog about the ride only. But then the EOiD meet experience turned out to be so fantastic, it turned into a Weekend blog. Jagmeet had already chalked out the details so perfectly in a mail, so am just pasting those words here.

The Taliyar Trailblazers

The Ride was excellent. It was cloudy throughout but didnt rain.
Let me start with the Element of mis-navigation. we took the Najafgarh turn from NH-8. After Bijwasan, the road stopped at a railway crossing. there was no going forward. on taking the bye-pass we reached the Dwarka Road. HAAAAAAAAAARRRR HAAAAAAAAARRRRR
After Dwarka, the road is single laned and like a jungle trail. it was great riding thru that trail.
and yet again, i simply could not get the turns we had to take in Najafgarh. i would never be able to remember those. its best to ask around.
we passed an hour at the PushyCat thanda v anda dhaba.
The Haryana Tourism Resort at the Tilyar Lake had a bar but it was to open at noon only. so supplies were sourced from outside an brought to the lakeside. Tuborg Strong. the lake was beautiful. due to healthy rains, it was topped up. some bird watching, some lovebirds watching. and then return. Mannat dhaba just outside Rohtak. we ate a lot. and i mean, a lot.
Breakdown - Polo had a rear tyre puncture near Najafgarh while returning.
Reached home by 2 pm.

Eating Out in Delhi - Chawri Bazar

Initially as it was raining heavily we feared that the meet would get cancelled and after coordinating with all we finalized that we shall meet and then see further.
Dips was the first one to reach the meeting point "chawri Bazar Metro station", followed by me. We waited for Ajit, Chadha pajhi and Fagu. After waiting for good 20
minutes we started off towards sitaram bazar and had famous aloo poori and a kind of sweetdish (Halwa and golgappe/papri), it was really mouth watering.
Over there we were joined by chadha pajhi and left for standard sweets where fagu and ajit had also came. We had chole puri and malpua, it was freakin awesome.
Fagu as being the intellectual amongst all of us started conversing with the Gori who was with us and within no time she was his companion. That gori knew Jha
Pajhi and also knew about BoP.
We went to another shop don remember the name and had ghevar, lauki barfi and some pethe ki sabji which me and dips didnt enjoyed but others did.
Then the walk started towards Chandni chowk and stopped at Famous Banta shop which was pretty close to Vihan's house. After that we marched towards
another shop to have Karachi Halwa which was way heavy and was "chewy chewy".......dips pajhi dekhlo chui chui nahi hai......Fagu was the only one who was carrying it in his bag and pleading others to finish it but no one had the guts.
As the meet was getting over so we thought to have BEER as a part of the BoP tradition. We marched towards metro station and reached CP, we had few options
like Castle 9 and Mirchi. The rates were pretty much the same and we went to Castle 9 and sat in the couples section and the moment we entered we saw 2 couples getting cosy and Ajit said "Maa chod di aaj inke weekend ki".
As we all being stags were not allowed to sit in there and we decided to go to Mirchi and drink Beer. We reached Mirchi and ordered Pitchers of Drought beer. we
were also joined by Vihans over there and never ending bakchodi started. within no time we had 6 pitchers of beer and after the 7th the manager said "Beer khatam".
We still ordered one more but this time it was Kingfisher. After the Mirchi we had gone to vihans school for some reunion and then to the exhibition at India Gate which Fagu wanted to see badly.
The exhibition was about some photographer who had been there during the time of independence and specially clicked snaps of Nehru. Some pics were really amazing but few were really disturbing.
Once we were through this we were dropped by sunny bhai at metro station and fare goodbye to each other and went to our homes.
